Apps I Can’t Live Without
I very rarely go on my computer to do work anymore because I am always out of the house. I don’t have the luxury of scheduled time for myself. While I’m out, sometimes I have a few minutes of time to myself while I’m in waiting rooms, at hockey games, or at appointments. These are my moments when I can read, write, or interact.
During this time, I rely on my apps to keep me entertained or help me get some work done during these extra minutes. Here are some of the apps that I can’t live without now because I have learned to depend on them to help me get through my days.
BlogLovin, a place to escape and read all the wonderful blogs that I follow. It keeps all my favourite blogs organized and all in one place. As well, it also keeps me updated as to which blogs I’ve read and which ones I haven’t so that I don’t miss reading any of those posts from people who I adore reading about.
Write 2, for those moments when inspiration hits me and I must write things down immediately. Sometimes a thought inspires me and I need somewhere to put it. Write 2 allows me to write down a single word or phrase or an entire novel which can be filed into separate folders. I no longer carry a notebook and pen with me anymore.
WordPress, when I get the urge to blog while I’m out of the house. Sometimes I snap pictures of the landscape or feel like there’s something I need to get off my chest. WordPress allows me to blog while I’m on my phone. Because I am so rarely at home, I don’t have to turn my computer on for a few minor sentences to post.
Kobo reader, all my books are at my fingertips. The ultimate app for traveling because I need my books with me at all times while I’m sitting in the passenger side of a vehicle or before I go to sleep at night.
Tune In Radio, so I can listen to hockey games on my phone while I’m not at home. I miss a few games during the season and Tune In Radio allows me to throw my headphones in and keep up with my favourite local hockey team games through our local radio station.
Shop Style, for those moments of weakness when I feel like shopping. Yes, I shop from my phone. Technology is a wonderful thing!
Gmail, I have 3 email accounts and I need all of them. I have a personal email account and 2 work email accounts, and I depend on all of them. It’s so easy with the new Gmail upgrades to keep all my accounts in order.
iTunes, I’m always downloading new music to listen to while I write. Inspiration seems to be abundant at the simple sound of a beautiful song.
Hootsuite, to keep up with my social networking. I use it as the main source of interaction with friends and family through twitter, Facebook, and other interactive sites that give people a way to chat with me if they feel the need to share their thoughts. This is the fastest and most efficient way to interact with me because I get instant notifications on my phone for all my social sites.
With all the apps that I have downloaded onto my phone and the rate at which I use them so very often, it begs the question, have I ever actually used the phone??
